The town of Wachalle, which serves as the gateway to Somaliland and is considered a major trading hub or dry port, suddenly turned into a battlefield last night. The Liyu Police, who take direct orders from President Mustafe Muhumed Omer, opened heavy fire on civilians and indiscriminately killed them without cause.
As the gunfire broke out, the residents of Wachalle town fled in panic, not knowing who was behind the attack. Eyewitnesses reported that the Liyu Police deliberately targeted civilians with gunfire, leaving behind the body of the late Mohamed Imaan Didar, and shortly afterwards killing three more young men — including a teenage boy whose photograph was shared by witnesses.
In Addis Ababa, a delegation of community elders led by Sultan Abdirahman Bade, along with other elders from the Arab clan led by Rashid Bishaaro, condemned the atrocities. They recalled that in the Harshin district massacre, 150 people were killed and 300 were injured. Reports indicate that President Mustafe Muhumed has carried out widespread killings, rapes, and massacres in the region, driven by clan-based animosity, and has used secret detention centers in undisclosed locations, where detainees are blindfolded throughout their ordeal.
The Isaac clan expressed outrage over these ongoing attacks. They declared that President Mustafe has openly and unashamedly used state security forces against them. The clan has directly appealed to the federal government to take immediate action to stop the massacres.
They also alleged that Mustafe Muhumed is behind a plan to expel Oromo people from Hargeisa. According to reports, a delegation led by Hussein Hashi, dispatched by Mustafe, recently visited Hargeisa and met with the Governor of Maroodi-cheehh, Mr. Mohamed Ahmed, described as Mustafe’s close ally and relative, who announced that Oromos would be expelled from the city. The Isaac community strongly condemned this move, calling it unacceptable, especially between the Somali people and their Oromo brothers. They urged the federal leadership to recognize Mustafe Muhumed’s policies, which they believe are directly aligned with the agendas of Ethiopia’s adversaries, particularly Egypt and Eritrea.
Finally, the local community and the Isaac clan have appealed directly to Ethiopia’s Prime Minister, Dr. Abiy Ahmed, to bring President Mustafe Muhumed to justice, accusing him of deliberate massacres and mass killings against the Isaac clan.
